On 12 February 2009 175+ cities around the world will be hosting Twestivals which bring together Twitter communities for an evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for charity: water.
We are organising Twestival Galway from it's new site here. It will be held at 7.30pm, September 10th in the House Hotel in Galway. the local charity we have choosen is the GSPCA.
We raised 300 euros exactly last night. Thanks to everyone who contributed and thanks to the House Hotel for giving us the venue. To all that got involved in such a lastminute.com project, I cannot thank you enough. : )
To see where our small yet important sum of money will be going have a look at the video above.
Thanks to all for coming along.
If anyone would like to match our donation or contribute more please drop me a mail.
It costs between $4,000 and $12,000 dollars to build a well.
For those of you who don't know where the House Hotel is in Galway:
Follow the side street on the left hand side of the Quays pub. This road leads down to Flood street.
On the right hand side as you exit the lane you should see the back of the House Hotel. The front of the Hotel is on Merchants Road. There is an entrance at both the Front and the back of the hotel.
Hi everyone there has been a last minute change of venue! We will be having Twestival Galway in the luxury boutique House Hotel! Wireless was an issue with the last venue! Hope to see you all there @ 8pm !
